WHO IS DFK?

DFK is a not-for-profit cross-community, all-ability, performing arts group where children and youth aged 3-18 can enjoy learning about acting, singing, dancing, film, tech, innovation and theatre in a friendly and safe environment. Our in-person classes are held on Saturdays at Ardmore Recreation Centre in Armagh City.

DFK is an inclusive group where children and youth readily welcome their peers from across different social groups, helping each other to understand their differences through the performing arts and helping them to integrate into the local community.

The new year has begun, and we have started to think about the end-of-year show! There are plenty of options, so each week, we take down two until we get to the FINAL ONE!

2023 Registration is open! We still have spaces in all of our classes. If you have a child aged 3-18 who enjoys, drama, acting, singing or dancing, then DFK could be perfect for them!

Our classes

Saturday classes are at Ardmore Recreation Centre. Class content is tailored for age and ability:

  • 3-5y/o: Little Bees – fun & interactive way to make new friends & express themselves
  • 6-10y/o: Big Bees – build self-confidence, learn how to improvise, perform on stage
  • 11-15y/o: Hive – teaches technique & improvisation as well as performance & social skills
  • 14-18y/o PAW (Performance Arts Workshop) – focuses on the complete actor, complements GCSE & A-level drama/theatre studies.
